One decade for distracted driving and one decade for not


using a hands free device. I don't know how many times I have seen a driver make a "NOVA left/right" while on their cellphone. The "NOVA left" is when a driver is in the right hand lane and decide to make a left turn at the last minute. In some cases they will cut across 1-3 lanes of traffic to achieve this phenomena. The "NOVA right" is just the reverse of the "NOVA left." If you are really "fortunate," then they will use their turn signal indicating they plan to turn in one direction and end up making the turn in the opposite direction. Depending on what part of the DMV you live in, it can also be referred to as the "DC left/right" or the "MD left/right."
